Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often about Airport Streams, flight capture requests, and using the website.

Airport Streams is a live plane-spotting channel based primarily at Christchurch Airport (NZCH), sharing real-time arrivals and departures, special liveries, and aviation moments with viewers around the world.

We aim to stream several times each week, depending on weather, traffic, and real-life commitments. Upcoming streams and special events are usually announced on the website and YouTube channel in advance.

VIP-level members and above can submit a Capture My Flight request, providing airline, flight number, route, and date/time. Our team reviews approved requests and, where possible, plans a stream to capture your flight on departure or arrival. Requests are not guaranteed, as they depend on weather, operational constraints, and airport access.

We use aviation-themed membership levels such as Economy Class, Business Class, First Class, VIP and Staff roles like Moderator and Admin. Certain features, such as Capture My Flight, are restricted to VIP and higher tiers. Membership levels and perks may change over time as the community grows.

In general, our recordings and livestreams are protected content. If you would like to use clips or footage, please contact us first with details of how you intend to use it. In many cases we’re happy to discuss collaboration or provide permission for specific, agreed-upon uses.

If you encounter a problem with the website, your account, or a capture request, please use the contact options listed on our Contact page or email the address provided there. When possible, include screenshots and a brief description of what you were trying to do so we can investigate quickly.
